B. Set-up

Paint the popsicle sticks using acrylic paint. Once they are dry, hot glue two in a cross shape and then two diagonally to create a snowflake.

C. Activity

Add some glue to the popsicle sticks and add on your supplies!

Set them aside to dry. These can also be hung up by adding a piece of twine to the back.

Craft #2: Marshmallow Snowmen

How to do this activity

A. Materials you need

B. Set-up

Draw a snowman shape on paper using a pencil. Then, outline it in glue.

Create the snowman’s hat, scarf, and arms using colored construction paper.

C. Activity

Add on the snowman’s accessories before adding on the marshmallows. Then, have the kids use a glue stick to glue these items in place.

Then, the kids add marshmallows around the entire snowman. They can do the outline, or they can fill the snowman’s tummy in!

Craft #3: Hot Chocolate Craft

How to do this activity

Draw a coffee cup shape on cardboard, then paint it using acrylic paint.

C. Activity

Kids can create a face using googly eyes for each cup. They can also decorate the cups by finger painting dots, using Q-tips to create stripes, or adding fun stickers or gems.

Add some mini marshmallows or peppermint sprinkles to top the hot chocolate!

Craft #4: Ripped Snow Craft

Ripped paper crafts are fun for kids, and it’s super easy!

Creating this snowman winter craft for kids just takes a few minutes.

How to do this activity

A. Materials you need

B. Set-up

Create three circle shapes and paste them to paper to make a snowman. Then, make the hat and arms and paste them on.

C. Activity

The kids will rip paper and paste it to the paper using a glue stick. Then, they can paste it around the snowman and on the ground.

Add googly eyes, a nose, mouth, and some buttons!

Craft #5: Polar Bear Craft

I have a little obsession with animal crafts. The kids always love creating and learning about animals.

Making polar bears is the perfect winter craft for kids. I love how the black and white look together!

How to do this activity

A. Materials you need

B. Set-up

Make a polar bear shape on white paper and use a glue stick to paste it down to black paper.

Also, create a scarf and coffee cup that would fit into the polar bear’s paws.

C. Activity

Use a glue stick to paste the cup and scarf on. We cut stripes for the scarf and added some yarn at the bottom of it using glue.

Give the polar bear a face using markers and make some paws near the coffee cup.

Lastly, the kids can fingerpaint some snow in the background or use a paintbrush to make snowflakes.

Craft #6: Pom Painted Snowman

Kids love using different supplies to paint. It’s a fun way for them to explore different textures.

How to do this activity

B. Set-up

Draw a snowman shape with a pencil on blue paper.

Create the snowman’s accessories with construction paper.

C. Activity

Kids will place a clothespin on the poms. We used blue and white paint, so we only needed two clothespins.

They will dip the pom in the paint and fill in the snowman with the white paint. Then, they will add some white and blue paint around the snowman.

Lastly, when the snowman is dry, they can add the accessories to complete the project!

Craft #7: Fingerprint Winter Tree

I am such a sucker for fingerprint activities. The kids enjoy them, and their little prints look so darn cute.

This winter craft for kids is a perfect keepsake, and it’s a fun way to talk about the season.

How to do this activity

B. Set-up

Trace your child’s hand and a little bit of their arm to create the trunk for the tree. Then, cut it out and paste it to the paper.

C. Activity

They will dip their fingers in the white paint and make prints around the tree. Then, they will wash off their finger and create some blue prints!

At the bottom of the tree, they can add some more “snow” prints!

Craft #9: Paper Snowglobe Craft

We did this craft before Christmas time, but it’s perfect for doing throughout winter.

Winter crafting is complete without making some snow globes.

How to do this activity

A. Materials you need

B. Set-up

Create a circle shape out of blue paper and a base out of white paper. Use a glue stick to glue these parts together to make the globe.

Then, create a snowman shape out of white paper. Lastly, make a hat shape out of black paper!

C. Activity

Draw on some eyes, add a nose, mouth, buttons and use a pipe cleaner to be the scarf for the snowman!

Glue on the snowman towards the bottom of the blue area of the globe. Then, the kids can add snow to their globe by using Q-tips to dab on some snow or snow confetti!

Lastly, you can create some Christmas lights at the bottom of the globe by finger painting using washable paint!

Craft #10: Hot Chocolate Name Craft

I have another hot chocolate craft for you! This time, it’s a name craft.

This winter craft for kids is great to help name-building skills.

How to do this activity

B. Set-up

Create a coffee cup shape on construction paper. Then, make some marshmallow pieces and write the letters of your little ones’ names on them.

C. Activity

Have your child decorate the hot chocolate cup using Q-tips, paint, or markers. Then, they will glue the marshmallows inside the hot chocolate in the correct order of their name.

We also added some stripes on the handle of the cup using paper. This is a great cutting activity to practice scissor skills!

Craft #11: Melted Snowman Craft

Oh no! The snowman melted! This is such a fun winter craft for kids of all ages.

It’s a wonderful way to get their imaginations going and work on writing skills.

B. Set-up

Print off my FREE melted snowman printable! Then, create a puffy paint mixture (equal parts shaving cream and glue).

C. Activity

Have kids create a melted pile of snow at the top of the page with puffy paint! TIP: I usually have the kids scoop it out using a spoon then spread it using a paintbrush.

Place the snowman’s head on top of the melted pile of snow. Then, the kids can add on buttons and stick arms.

Craft #12: Paper Plate Snowman

Paper plate crafts are the best! I am always amazed at the creations that can come from a simple paper plate.

This snowman winter craft for kids is great to do on a cold, snowy day.

How to do this activity

B. Set-up

Hot glue two paper plates together. Then, create the accessories for the snowman (hat and arms).

C. Activity

The kids will add on buttons, googly eyes, and the snowman’s face!

They will glue on the snowman’s hat and arms using a glue stick.

Craft #13: Puffy Paint Snowman

Did you know it only takes two ingredients you most likely have on hand at home to make puffy paint?

Glue and shaving cream. That’s it! Mix, and you got yourself some puffy paint.

How to do this activity

A. Materials you need

B. Set-up

In a bowl, mix 1/4 cup of foam shaving cream and 1/4 cup of white glue. Next, draw three circles on your piece of blue cardstock paper. Lastly, create a snowman hat using black cardstock, as you see above.

C. Activity

Scoop the puffy paint into the circles and have the kids use their fingers to spread the paint into the circles. Have them add on the snowman accessories! Dot some snowballs around the snowman using a paintbrush!

Craft #14: Winter Stick Crafts

Popsicle stick crafts are some of our favorite crafts to do together as a family!

These winter crafts for kids are easy, and the kids will love decorating their rooms with these.

How to do this activity

A. Materials you need

B. Set-up

Do all the painting to prep the sticks! The kids can do this part, or you can.

C. Activity

Directions for each of the sticks are below.

1. Snowman- Paint a few sticks white; when they dry, add a little pink paint for cheeks! Then, have the kids use glue to place buttons on for eyes and the mouth!

With orange cardstock paper, cut out a triangle for a nose. Lastly, use hot glue to place poms at the top of the sticks and glue a bent pipe cleaner to make ear muffs!

2. Hot chocolate-Create a semi-circle at the top of the popsicle sticks with a pencil. Paint the bottom half blue and paint the semi-circle brown.

Hot glue a few white poms in the brown section to be the marshmallows. With blue cardstock, create a handle and glue it to the back of the sticks. Lastly, add on snowflake stickers or make your own from paper!

3- Snowflake-Paint 4 sticks white and hot glue them together by creating a cross, then place the others diagonally on each other.

Put some glue on the sticks and dump some glitter on, then shake off the access—lastly, hot glue winter gems at the ends of each stick.

Craft #15: Salt Painting Snowflakes

I’m pretty much obsessed with any activity that deals with salt painting. If you follow my Instagram account, you know this for sure!

It ALWAYS turns out so beautiful. The kids love watching the paint flow through the salt.

B. Set-up

On a piece of cardboard, draw some snowflakes with a pencil. They don’t have to be detailed; as you can see, I did mine as simple as possible (I’m not the best artist).

Outline it with glue, then dump a bunch of salt on it. Dump the rest into the trash when the glue is covered.

C. Activity

Once the salt dries, the kids will use watercolors to paint the salt. They can use a bunch of different colors to make it look amazing!

Craft #16: Coffee Filter Snowflakes

Coffee filter crafts are simple and fun for all ages.

This is the best winter craft for kids. All they have to do is scribble on the filters, and they come out beauiful!

B. Set-up

Fold your coffee filter several times. You can really do this however many times you want; I did it 4 times.

Create whatever designs you want by making small cuts and shapes! Then, unfold and check out how it looks.

C. Activity

Use markers to color the snowflake! It doesn’t have to look pretty; it’ll all blend in the end. Once you are done, spray the snowflake with a spray bottle that has water in it. Let it dry on the art tray and see your final products!

Craft #17: Snowflake Tray Play

Tray play set-ups are amazing because the kids get to use their creativity, and there are NO directions! They just get to use their imagination and create.

Craft #18: Winter Animal Paper Plate Crafts

Paper plate crafts are becoming one of my FAVORITE crafts with the kids.

They are easy, and they always turn out really cute. Plus, I always have paper plates hanging around! For a winter theme, we made a penguin and a polar bear!

How to do this activity

A. Materials you need

paper plate
cotton balls
black cardstock
black acrylic paint
googly eyes
orange cardstock
hot glue and a hot glue gun

B. Set-up

Paint a paper plate black using acrylic paint! Next, cut out wings using black card stock paper. Lastly, create a small triangle for a beak and small semi-circles for feet using orange card stock.

C. Activity

a.Penguin– Using hot glue, glue the wings on the plate’s side, and glue the feet on the bottom. Let the kids use regular glue to attach the cotton balls to the belly. They can also glue on the googly eyes and beak!

b.Polar bear– Cut the bottom of the plate to create paws. Make a white circle using white card stock to be the head. Also, using that paper, create semi-circle ears! Add googly eyes, a black pom, and paint pink circles on the face. I drew in the mouth with a Sharpie. Have the kids glue on the poms!

Craft #19: Winter TP Roll Craft

Toilet paper roll crafts are enjoyable, and they always turn out super cute.

The best thing about them is that you ALWAYS have them on hand! So all you need is a few craft supplies, and you are set.

How to do this activity

B. Set-up

Paint two TP rolls white. To create the penguin, paint the back and sides black and the center white.

C. Directions for each of the rolls

a.Polar Bear–Draw four paw prints using white card stock and a black marker. Hot glue these to the front of your TP roll! Create ears using white card stock and hot glue them to the inside of the tube. Make a face by gluing on googly eyes, a black pom for a nose, and draw in the mouth! Lastly, glue some cotton balls to the front tummy!

b.Olaf–Hot glue three poms to the bottom of the tube for his buttons! Grab five sticks from outside to create the arms and Olaf’s hair.Use hot glue to hold these sticks in place.

To create his face, glue on googly eyes, a nose cut out of orange card stock, and use a Sharpie to draw in his mouth. Lastly, to make Olaf’s feet cut some circles out of white paper and glue them on the bottom.

c.Penguin–Create wings using black paper and glue them to the side. Hot glue googly eyes, an orange beak to create the face. Cut semi-circles out of orange paper and glue them to the bottom for the feet. Add ear muffs by hot-gluing two poms and a pipe cleaner at the top of the TP roll!

Craft #20: Winter Mittens Craft

These mittens couldn’t be any cuter!

This winter craft for kids will be exciting since they can dip their hands in paint.

How to do this activity

A. Materials you need

cardstock paper
paint
yarn
tape
poms
glue

B. Set-up

Make some mitten shapes out of paper, then cut them out. Next, add some paint to a tray.

C. Activity

Your kids can dip their hands in the paint, or they can paint it on using a paintbrush. Then, they will place their hand on the mitten and gently pull up to see their prints.

Once they are dry, add some poms to the bottom of the mittens using glue.

Lastly, connect the mittens using yarn. Tape a piece of yarn to the back of each of the mittens.

Craft #21: Bottle Cap Snowmen

Bottle caps make the perfect little snowmen!

This winter craft for kids is SUPER fun, and it’s a great way to talk to your kids about reusing materials.

How to do this activity

A. Materials you need

paper plate
acrylic paint
black paper
tape
fake snow
bottle caps
Sharpie
pipe cleaners
hot glue
glue
buttons

B. Set-up

Paint a paper plate half dark blue and half light blue. While waiting for it to dry, you can create the snowmen by hot-gluing two or three bottle caps together. The kids can create the faces on a few of the caps.

C. Activity

The kids can glue buttons on each of the snowmen. Then, you can add the pipe cleaners on for arms- they need to be hot glued or taped on.

Glue the snowmen on the plate using hot glue. Then, add a small layer of school glue to the light blue section of the paper plate. Then, have the kids sprinkle some fake snow on the bottom.

Lastly, the kids can fingerpaint some snow at the top of the plate!

Craft #22: Straw Snowflakes

This winter craft for kids is one of my favorite crafts that I have ever done!

The detail on this craft is SO much fun, and it turns out amazing.

How to do this activity

A. Materials you need

paper
noodles
glue
hot glue
paper straws
acrylic paint
art tray
parchment paper
scissors

B. Set-up

Cut paper straws to make a snowflake shape. I used about 3 paper straws per snowflake. I measured the straws to make sure they were around the same length. Hot glue these to a piece of paper.

Color the pasta noodles (wheel, spiral, and bow tie) by putting them in a plastic bag. Next, add some acrylic paint in, shake, and dump it on an art tray with parchment paper.

Let them dry for about 2 hours before crafting!

C. Activity

Have the kids glue the noodles on the paper. You will have to use a hot glue gun to add the noodles onto the straws. If you want to have them sit on the paper, they can just use regular school glue!

Check out your creations! These are beautiful and can be hung up as a winter decoration around the house.

Craft #23: Sensory Penguin Craft

If you are looking for an animal craft to do this winter, these penguins are really fun.

I love using different sensory items for crafts to explore the different textures.

How to do this activity

A. Materials you need

cardboard
acrylic paint
rice
foam shaving cream
glue
marshmallows
cotton balls
paintbrush
googly eyes

B. Set-up

Draw and paint a penguin on a piece of cardboard. You can fill the penguin’s tummy in with white paint, or you can leave it as is!

While waiting for the penguins to dry, create the puffy paint by mixing equal parts foam shaving cream and glue.

C. Activity

The kids will add a thin layer of glue to the penguin’s tummy. Then, they can add cotton balls, mini marshmallows, the puffy paint mixture, and rice!

Once all of the sensory items are dry, have the kids feel each one. Then, have them talk about the differences in how each of them feels.

Craft #24: Color Resist Winter Hats

The color resist activities are always a hit. It’s almost like a magic trick!

Kids love seeing the designs that just pop up when they are painting.

How to do this activity

A. Materials you need

Create a hat shape on a white piece of paper. Then, make designs on the hat using a white crayon.

C. Activity

The kids will use watercolors to reveal the designs. They can use one color per hat or mix colors!

Craft #25: Snowman Doily Craft

This winter craft for kids is EASY and quick. Kids can do this one on their own!

Sometimes you just need a quick activity to fill a few minutes. This craft is perfect for that.

How to do this activity

B. Set-up

The kids will glue down doilies on a piece of paper. We could only fit two with how big ours were.

Create a hat, arms, and scarf for the kids.

C. Activity

Your kids can glue down the hat, arms and create a face for the snowman! Then, they can glue down the buttons.

This is such an easy and fun craft- perfect for toddlers!

Craft #26: Pinecone Bird Feeders

I have the best winter craft for kids that gets your kids outside!

Make some bird feeders out of pinecones! This is a fun and easy process for kids. They will love seeing the birds eat from the feeders they made.

How to do this activity

A. Materials you need

Spread peanut butter on the pinecone!

C. Activity

Have the kids roll the pinecones in some birdseed! Then, you will wrap a piece of twine to the top of the pinecones to hang them outside.

Craft #27: Snowflake Threading Craft

Threading activities are a fun way to practice fine motor skills.

My kids seem to love threading activities, especially my little guy. I love watching the concentration that they have while doing this craft.

How to do this activity

A. Materials you need

pipe cleaners
beads
scissors

B. Set-up

Create the snowflake using pipe cleaners. You’ll need two pipe cleaners for each snowflake. First, cut a pipe cleaner in half and wrap them around each other to create a plus. Then, repeat that step with another pipe cleaner to make it look like a snowflake.

C. Activity

The kids will thread beads onto the pipe cleaners. We chose to use winter colors like blues, whites, and purples.

You can make this a pattern learning activity, or the kids can place them on to color match the pipe cleaner.

Wrap the pipe cleaner at the end of each section so the beads don’t come off!

Have your kids start ripping pieces of construction paper. We used different shades of blue and white!

They will glue these pieces of construction paper onto the snowflake on the lines! This is a great fine motor activity as well.

This printable can also be used to work on handwriting skills. Use a pencil, marker, or even a Q-tip and paint to paint the lines of the snowflake.

Craft #29: Snowflake Sensory Craft

I love using colored rice for sensory crafts! Rice is one of my favorite sensory fillers when it comes to sensory play.

Bring it into crafting by adding it to some winter snowflakes.

How to do this activity

A. Materials you need

B. Set-up

Draw a snowflake shape on cardboard and paint it. While that is drying, you can color the rice!

Dump 1 cup of rice in a plastic bag and add some acrylic paint. On an art tray, place a piece of parchment paper down. Shake up the bag and dump it out on the art tray to dry. Repeat this process for each color you want to do.

C. Activity

Once everything is dry, add a thin layer of glue down to the snowflakes. Then, have your kids sprinkle the rice on them.

You can add a face on snowflakes, or you can just cover the entire thing with rice!

How to do this activity

B. Set-up

Create a circle using a marker on the sponge. Then, cut the circle out using scissors!

C. Activity

We used cardboard for this activity, but you can also use paper! First, make three stamped circle shapes to create a snowman. Then, wait for it to dry.

Add on buttons, googly eyes, a hat, scarf, and a face!

This is such a simple and fun winter craft for kids.

Craft #31: Wine Cork Snowman Craft

Got some leftover wine corks? This is a great way to reuse them to create a snowman!

Wine corks make the perfect little circles, which is perfect for this craft.

How to do this activity

A. Materials you need

B. Set-up

Dump some acrylic paint on a tray and grab a wine cork.

C. Activity

Create three prints on paper to make a snowman. You can do this all over!

You’ll have to wait for the prints to dry. Then, you can make buttons, arms and a face using Sharpies.

Lastly, use construction paper to make a nose!

Craft #32: Yarn Wrapped Snowman

Yarn wrapping crafts are fun and it’s a great way for kids to work on fine motor skills.

I love how they turn out as well! They make the perfect winter homemade decoration for the house.

How to do this activity

A. Materials you need

cardboard
white acrylic paint
white yarn
scrapbook paper
hot glue

snowman building set
box cutter

B. Set-up

Create a circle on cardboard and cut it out using a box cutter. Make a big circle for the body and a smaller circle for the face. Then, paint the circles using white acrylic paint.

C. Activity

Tape the start of the yarn to the back of the circle and have the kids start wrapping until the circle is almost covered. Repeat this step for each circle.

Then, you’ll need to hot glue the two circles together. Cover up the hot glue by creating a scarf for the snowman using scrapbook or cardstock paper. After that, hot glue some arms to the back of the body!

Lastly, you’ll add on the accessories like poms for buttons, googly eyes, buttons for a smile, and a nose! We had a snowman craft kit we got that came with buttons, hats, and nose. I linked it in the materials section.

Craft #33: Cupcake Liner Snowman

The best thing about it is that it only takes a few minutes to do, and it’s perfect for kids.

How to do this activity

B. Set-up

Create a face in one of the cupcake liners by using googly eyes, construction paper, and a marker!

C. Activity

Use a glue stick to glue three cupcake liners on in a row. Glue two buttons of the other two liners. Then, add some arms for the snowman using a brown marker.

Lastly, you can have the kids use Q-tips and white paint to make snow all around the snowman! It’s a fun way for the kids to paint and the Q-tips make the perfect snowflakes.

Dump some white acrylic paint on a tray and grab your toilet paper roll. Then, you can cut your cardboard or you can do this on construction paper.

C. Activity

Dip the toilet paper roll into the paint and create three prints on the cardboard/paper to make the snowman. Then, you’ll need to wait for it to dry. It’ll go fast since there’s not a lot of paint.

Then, create a hat using a marker, eyes, and a mouth! You can make a nose out of construction paper.

Lastly, glue on some buttons to finish the snowman! Such a fun and easy snowman craft for kids.

Craft #35: Name Craft Snowman

This name snowman craft is perfect for toddlers and preschoolers.

Crafting is a great way to work on name-building skills. Kids will love seeing their names on the crafts you create.

How to do this activity

A. Materials you need

paper
paint
markers
scissors
glue stick
gems

B. Set-up

Create the number of snowballs using white paper that you would need to make your child’s name and cut them out. Also, arms for the snowman and a hat if you want to add that at the top.

Either you or the kids can write the letters of their name on the snowballs!

C. Activity

The kids will glue the snowballs in the correct order of their name to create a snowman! Then, they can create a face out of the top snowball.

Add on the snowman’s hat and arms. Lastly, the kids can fingerprint some snow around the snowman they created!

#36: Puffy Paint Craft Templates

Making puffy paint is so much fun and it’s really easy! I have three fun winter craft puffy paint projects for you.

Plus, I have free templates to go along with them so it makes it even easier.

How to do this activity

A. Materials you need

foam shaving cream
Elmer’s glue
cardstock paper
paintbrush
spoon
containers to hold the paint
buttons
googly eyes
scissors

B. Set-up

Print off the templates you want to use or draw your pictures with a pencil onto cardstock paper.

C. Activity

To make the puffy paint mix equal parts foam shaving cream and glue. I don’t measure this out. I usually spray a bunch of shaving cream in my container and add 2 big globs of glue.

Mix these two and if you want change the color using food coloring.

The kids will use a spoon to scoop out the paint and a paintbrush to spread it around the picture!

Then, they can add extras like buttons, poms, eyes, pipe cleaners, cardstock paper, etc.

These will hold onto the paint so no need for extra glue! Let dry and 2-3 hours and feel how it changes!
